Erin and I have spent the last few days with her family here in NoDak. In that time I have shot a gun; seen a musical about a barber who needs glasses, Teddy Roosevelt, and of course, how kick-ass America is("An immigrant's daughter who has something to say/ can grow to be an author one day/ evan an immigrant's daughter can be OK."); and of course spent time with Erin's close and extended family. None of whom, I am happy to report, seemed the least bit crazy or mean. Nice folks, all. Which you don't really expect in a family reunion, right? So I was a bit confused. Where was the rich but bitter uncle with his drunkard wife? Where was the old guy who talked too much? Where were my stereotypes? Not a one was present.
I'll post scans of my gun targets later.
