Was going to go climbing, but spent the day shopping and seeing the truly incredible A Scanner Darkly instead. The book is one of the best PKD I've read, and the movie does it comple...well, almost complete justice. There was a little too much exposition for my taste, but it's inevitable when you're dealing with a story that takes place mostly in the mind. I'm amazed Linklater took a try at it, really, and more amazed by the outcome. Good stuff.

Just got back from a week-long river trip, which I'll post about soon. Did I have fun? I'll put it to you this way: At the trip's end, I was ready to start paddling back UP the river. I think if not for Erin and Kino, I would be a smelly guy in Idaho slopping groovers (honey-buckets) downriver for a living for dudes willing to shell out the $3 grand a head for the trip.
