Got my hair cut today. It's funny that although my ability to talk to people on the street, coworkers, shopkeepers and bartenders has gone dramatically downhill since I left my country of origin my ability to communicate with hairstylists has remained unchanged. In fact, maybe it's improving. Last haircut I could say nothing to the guy behind the chair. This time we chatted about rugby, my students, and maybe something else. At least I talked about that stuff. I think. Anyway I've decided to gauge my ability in the native tongue by my barber. Right now I'm middle of the ear. I'm hoping for lambchop by the time I leave.
